Hi ALL:

On July 01 2013 at or about 2030hrs EST, The Fort Armstrong
Wireless Association-Kittanning Pa. (following it's regular weekly
ARES/RACES Net) is going to conduct a net to determine the
coverage we can expect from our new repeater location in Northern
Armstrong Co. We will be operating on 145.590 .
Ourre-coordination is still pending for the new site. The Antenna
is facing South so we are expecting greater reach into
Southern Armstrong County and Alleghany County Pennsylvania.

The purpose of the test is to see if stations running 5 watts
on an HT and 25 watts on a mobile can access the site and to
determine the amount of power we'll need to facilitate reliable
two way repeater communications. Yes, it's non-scientific but it
may give Eric- KB3TTX and I an idea of how much tx power we should
program the repeater to put Too, and most importantly we want
to try to assure that we will not cause interference with other
repeaters with an output frequency of 145.410 MHz [KB8WLW-Parm Ohio,
WV8AR - HURRICANE, WV] thus the reason for including them on this
email.

To that end, we are asking WPRC members to request of their
client/operators to participate in our drill in addition to those
who use the KB8WLW and WV8AR repeaters. We would like operators to
pre-register by 28 June 2013 to participate in our drill. The reason
for pre-registration is to provide a list for Eric who will be
the net control op at the tower site on July 01. He can then
go down the list and call out those who chose to assist us with
our endeavor by county in alphabetical order and call out the call
signs of pre-registered operators.

To Mr. Keller-AB3ER I would request that you disseminate my
request to all EC's and AEC's in the Western Pennsylvania Section
and to those listed in your email of 10 June 2013 re: Energizing
Emergency Communications Conference. While I have their email addresses
from the email you sent out and what appeared on the attendance
sheet for the event, I did not want to cold call those who do not
know me.

To any and all who will participate. Eric-KB3TTX will be asking
for your call sign, zip code, state and if you are using an HT -a
mobile OR both and signal report if you have not already provided
same with your pre-registration. If you can participate, please
respond to me by 28 July 2013. Send an email with "K3QY Simplex
Test" in the subject line, In the email body please in your call
sign, zip code, the county & State where you will operate from and
if you are using an HT -a mobile OR both.

If we may get a large number of operators who will assist us by
checking in, we shall call operators by County in (Ohio, Pa. WV. ) in
Alphabetical order.

Thank you in advance if you are able to assist us.
